What is Somatic & Nervous System Work?
ACT is a modern, evidence-based therapy that blends mindfulness, self-compassion, and behaviour change. It helps you notice when your mind pulls you into self-criticism, worry, or avoidance—and gently shift your focus back to meaningful action.
Rather than trying to “get rid of” pain or discomfort, ACT teaches you how to live with more freedom and alignment, even when life is hard.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you relate differently to difficult thoughts and feelings—not by fighting them, but by making space for them while focusing on what matters. Combined with mindfulness and values-based work, this approach supports clarity, calm, and purpose—even during uncertain or challenging times.

How much therapy do I need? This is completely up to you and is unique for each person we work with. Some people find that weekly sessions are helpful, others find that coming bi-weekly or monthly visits fit better with their schedule. When coming regularly, most people report noticing change(s) after 8–10 sessions. Some people prefer to go with "lifestyle" counselling, where they pop in when needed. We typically suggest you attend therapy weekly for at least a month, so your therapist can gain an understanding of your life, background, and current challenges. Then, perhaps you switch to bi-weekly for several months. After this time, we will work together to come up with a treatment schedule that fits your goals and lifestyle. However, therapy at Noia Wellness is designed to be personalized. Book a free consultation today to chat more with us.
