Common Reasons for Seeking Therapy for Depression
You might be considering therapy if you’re experiencing:
-
Feeling sad, numb, or emotionally flat most days
-
Loss of interest in activities that once brought joy
-
Chronic fatigue or disrupted sleep
-
Difficulty concentrating or making decisions
-
Harsh self-criticism or feelings of worthlessness
-
Withdrawal from friends, family, or responsibilities
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, we’ll work together to find solutions that work for you.
Depression can feel like being stuck in a fog—numb, hopeless, or overwhelmed. It may be hard to get out of bed, stay motivated, or connect with others the way you used to. When joy feels distant and self-doubt takes over, therapy offers a compassionate space to begin healing and rebuilding.

How much therapy do I need? This is completely up to you and is unique for each person we work with. Some people find that weekly sessions are helpful, others find that coming bi-weekly or monthly visits fit better with their schedule. When coming regularly, most people report noticing change(s) after 8–10 sessions. Some people prefer to go with "lifestyle" counselling, where they pop in when needed. We typically suggest you attend therapy weekly for at least a month, so your therapist can gain an understanding of your life, background, and current challenges. Then, perhaps you switch to bi-weekly for several months. After this time, we will work together to come up with a treatment schedule that fits your goals and lifestyle. However, therapy at Noia Wellness is designed to be personalized. Book a free consultation today to chat more with us.
