Individual, Couples, and Nature Therapy in Hamilton
The Heart Of Noia
At Noia, every therapist brings their own story and expertise, creating a practice shaped by authenticity and care.
Founded by psychotherapist Emily Grunthal, Noia emerged from her vision to make therapy feel deeply human. After her own journey through psychology, eco-psychology, and nature-based therapy, Emily envisioned a practice where clients could feel truly seen and supported.
Rooted in Authenticity, Human Connection, And Holistic Care
Founded by psychotherapist Emily Grunthal, Noia began from her vision to make therapy feel truly human. After her own journey through psychology, eco-psychology, and nature-based therapy, Emily dreamed of a space where clients would never feel like “just another appointment.” Today, that vision is carried forward by a team of therapists who show up with authenticity and walk beside clients on their path to healing.
What Does Noia Mean?
Pronounced Noy-Uh
The name Noia carries layers of meaning that reflect the heart of our work. In Greek, the suffix -noia speaks to the mind: our thoughts, our inner world, the way we make sense of life. In Hebrew, noia is linked to movement: a gentle sway, a reminder that healing is never stagnant but always unfolding.
For us, Noia represents both: the mind and the motion. It’s the space where thinking and feeling meet, and the reminder that growth happens when we allow ourselves to move emotionally, mentally, and physically. Our name, Noia, is a reminder that healing isn’t stagnant; it’s always in motion, and so are you.
A space where every person feels deeply seen and heard
Our Mission & Philosophy
Noia Wellness is a gathering place where you can reconnect with yourself, find balance, and feel supported on the path toward healing and growth. Our mission is to walk beside you with care, authenticity, and compassion as you move toward a life that feels grounded, connected, and true to who you are.
We believe therapy should be as unique as the person seeking it. You are a whole being with a mind, body, and spirit that deserve to be understood together. That’s why we draw from a range of approaches, from CBT and DBT to somatic practices and nervous-system-informed care.
Meaningful support,
without unnecessary barriers
Hamilton Based Therapy That’s Accessible And Personal
At Noia, we know cost can be one of the biggest barriers to care. That’s why, alongside our private practice therapists, we offer an Affordable Therapy Program with interns and junior therapists. Our interns are supported through direct supervision, ensuring your care is always ethical and attentive.
We also make therapy accessible in how it’s offered. Whether you’re meeting with us in person in Hamilton, connecting virtually across Ontario, or walking side by side outdoors, our goal is to meet you in the way that works best for your life.
For those with insurance, we provide receipts that can be submitted for reimbursement (check your provider to see if psychotherapy or social work is covered).
Accessibility doesn’t mean compromise. It means creating more pathways to healing, so more people can feel supported.
At Noia, we integrate evidence-based practices with somatic, holistic, and trauma-informed approaches, creating therapy that feels grounding, sustainable, and deeply personal. Whether in person, online, or outdoors, every session is guided by a holistic lens that honours your mind, body, and spirit.
