"I have a profound belief that shared humanness is what makes healing possible in therapy."
My journey with anxiety and depression began when I was 13. Learning to navigate the mental health system was difficult (to say the least), and is one of the most significant reasons I chose to pursue a career in psychotherapy. Having lived experience with mental health, I truly know what it feels like to be in the shoes of a client.
I realized that I wanted to be a therapist in the middle of my undergraduate degree. I've always known that I wanted to work in healthcare, but it took failing first year chemistry to realize that the medical sciences weren't for me. Cue my pivot into psychology—I fell in love with psychological theory and human behaviour. Fast-forward to today, I am wildly passionate about mental health, holistic healthcare, and exploring all elements of a person. I believe we are far more than just our mental or physical health.

Between sessions, I am a true nature girl at heart. You'll find me on local trails (try therapy outside!!), working away in my backyard garden, or out on the water for a paddle. I am a cat mom of two (Kenzo & Meeko), a daughter, a partner, a sister, and a friend. I love thrift shopping, weightlifting/running, and yoga. I am deeply spiritual and passionate about bridging western empirical theories with "woo-woo" spiritually. I get it, I promise.

Beyond that, I am really just a girl being driven by a mission to make the world a bit of a brighter place. I started Noia with a vision of creating a space where all people could feel deeply seen, heard, and valued for their most genuine and authentic expression of self. I'm so glad you're here."
