Accepting new clients (In-person and virtual)

Marly Bromstein (She/Her)

Associate Therapist, MACP., Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

I work with individuals and couples who feel stuck in their relationships, personal lives, careers, or sense of purpose. Together, we look beyond presenting concerns to explore what may be underneath them, including how past experiences may be shaping the present.

I offer a warm, non-judgemental space to slow down, make sense of your experiences, connect with difficult emotions, and explore new ways forward. As an integrative therapist, I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), psychodynamic therapy, and mindfulness and somatic practices, tailoring our work to your unique needs. I believe the therapeutic relationship is an important part of the work and strive to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and understood.

Relationships are a particular focus of my work. I support individuals and couples experiencing recurring patterns, disconnection or challenges with communication and intimacy. Using EFT, I help couples understand what emotions and needs may be underneath these patterns to build greater security and connection in their relationships.

I also have a special interest in sex therapy and create a space where sexual concerns can be explored openly and without judgement. I work with individuals and couples navigating concerns such as mismatched or low desire, sexual communication, sexual pain, unhelpful sexual narratives, shame around sex and other sexual concerns that impact their lives. We can also explore how these experiences connect with intimacy, relationships, and our sense of self.

I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. My experience includes supporting individuals in crisis and providing mental health support in community settings, including volunteering with the Toronto Rape Crisis Centre and the University of Toronto’s Sexual Education Centre. I have also spent several years working as an Assistant Director at a sleepover summer camp environment, where I led a mental health and community care team and supported the emotional well-being of young people and their communities.

My post-graduate training includes the Externship in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy through the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), as well as continuing education in Applied and Foundations of Professional Sexuality Practices through the University of Guelph. Continued education and clinical supervision in EFT and sex therapy are an ongoing part of my professional development.

Before becoming a therapist, I earned a Bachelor of Design from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and worked in the fashion industry. My background in design shaped my interest in self-expression, identity, and relationships, as well as my understanding of how we express ourselves and connect with others. I also know what it is like to make a significant career change and find your way toward something more meaningful.

Therapy has been transformative in my own life and a valuable tool for growth. I know what it is like to be on the other side of the chair. Outside of therapy, you’ll often find me at a yoga class, making pottery, exploring art and film, enjoying great food, rock climbing, or travelling.
